Here I go. Ahem.

Today I woke to the sound of my 2-year-old son's laughter. Deep, belly laughs that made me smile before I even opened my eyes.

"Mommy, UP!" Emphasis on the "p." "Up-Pah!"

His giddiness didn't last long. His inner 2-year-old came out, and it wasn't pretty. In the span of two hours he must have spat out "NO!" 50 times.

I gargled down a half cup of coffee (I'm a corporate whore, I know. It was brewed at home Starbucks). Took my vitamins and pills.

We met friends at the nature museum for a special display of farm animals. I went there many times in my childhood, and had forgotten how cool it is. Definitely gonna go back soon.

H. was fearless in the pen. He wiggled out of my arms and ran to be face to face with the animals. He ran his hands up and down a donkey's coarse mane, giggled as he squatted to pat a pig, and was wide-eyed when he noticed the miniature pony. All birds under two feet in height, he seems to think, are geese. Nevermind these had bright yellow beaks and feet.

While he was ogling the animals, I stood back and soaked up the sight of him. Wide, slender shoulders. Long torso that narrows into slender hips. Long legs. Hair that's the color of straw when the sun hits it.

When he's happy, he runs on his tiptoes. He has one nervous habit - dusting off his hands. When he's tired, he leans his body into my shoulder, puts his head down and blesses my neck with his sweet breath.

I'm in love with that boy.
